Chosen by Stagecoach for their performance, attractive appearance and compliance with Rail Vehicle Accessibility regulations, Voyager Safety floorcoverings have been specifically developed by commercial flooring specialist Polyflor Ltd to provide the aesthetics, performance and underfoot safety demanded by designers, builders and operators of urban tram systems, buses, coaches, emergency and mobility vehicles.

The interior design created for Stagecoach by Atkins Rail Industrial Designers at Derby features a combination of Blue Forge flooring from top of the range Voyager WS and Arctic Blue from the Voyager Standard Finish collection.

The products are installed throughout the units, including drivers’ cabs, saloons and vestibule areas, with 20cm² wheelchair signage insets in each car.

The Voyager Safety range is available in four distinct product groups. Top of the range is Voyager WS, incorporating Supratec - a unique soil releasing polymer system that offers significant maintenance benefits. A shade choice of seven multi-coloured chip or traditional designs is offered.

Voyager Standard Finish Plus comprises five balanced multi-chip shades, and Voyager Standard Finish provides six colour options.

All three ranges feature a surface emboss for reduced dirt pick-up and the fourth - Voyager Embossed, in three colours - has a special diamond emboss for enhanced safety in specialist vehicles. All four product ranges also incorporate antimicrobial agents for improved hygiene protection.

The floor-coverings conform to 95/28/EC fire test as endorsed by the Vehicle Certification Agency and ISO 3795, as well as meeting DiPTAC’s accessibility specification for small buses, which requires all floors and gangways to be covered with a slip resistant material. All ranges also conform to EN 13845, the new European slip standard.

Polyflor Voyager transport flooring can be tailored to individual customer requirements and supplied in pre-cut kit form. A computerised water jet cutting service is also available to create public information signs and symbols, corporate logos and other inlaid decoration.
