Case Study: Abbotswood Court
Luxury vinyl tiles from Polyflor were used to help create a warm and welcoming environment at one of Hartford Care’s new care homes, Abbotswood Court in Romsey, Hampshire.
Around 2000m² of Polyflor’s Expona Commercial luxury vinyl tiles in the wood effect Honey Classic Oak design were installed throughout Abbotswood Court by local flooring contractors Beveridge Flooring of Fareham. One of Hartford Care’s 13 facilities in the South of England, the £8 million Abbotswood Court development is a 63 bed new build care home offering residential care, dementia care, nursing care, respite care and day care.
Expona Commercial flooring in this oak shade was fitted in corridors, communal areas and bedrooms throughout Abbotswood Court. Wood effect flooring designs like this which feature good depth of colour are ideal for use in care facilities, especially where people living with dementia are being cared for.
Safety flooring from the Polysafe Vogue Ultra PUR range was also installed in disabled access bathroom suites at Abbotswood Court, providing sustainable wet slip resistance in these areas that are used by residents, guests and staff.
Gemma Ridout-Bowden, Manager at Abbotswood Court commented, “Polyflor’s flooring has helped Hartford Care create a state-of-the-art care home which has been designed to meet the individual needs of our residents. Abbotswood Court is a caring, comfortable and happy environment where residents have relaxed into life in their new home.”
